Yellow Wings Over Nova Scotia

Topic of the month for April 2026 is ““Yellow Wings over Nova Scotia”

Thursday, 16 April 2026, 7-9 pm:

Please find below the coordinates for the zoom link to Mark Peapell’s presentation on Thursday night for those not able to join in person.

Entitled “Yellow Wings Over Nova Scotia”, Mark will  recount the role of Nova Scotia in Canada’s largest contribution to the Second World War, the BCATP. Airfields across NS took part in contributing trained airmen to the BCATP(British Commonwealth Air Training Plan).

Airfields at Stanley, Debert, Maitland, Greenwood and Yarmouth, all hosted training schools , which all supplied different aircrew training from pilots to naval telegraph and wireless operators. RCAF Dartmouth played a very minor  role in the plan, but it is little known.

For those who are planning to join us in person, the museum doors will open at 6:15 pm.

See you then!
