A World War I History Group has been in existence in Halifax for years; the group started meeting at the Shearwater Aviation Museum in the summer of 2023. After relocating with the SAM staff during renovations to the remote office at the Shearwater Sports and Recreation Centre in 2023-2024, the group returned to SAM with the staff and broadened the focus of the group beyond the Great War. The group meets the 3rd Thursday of every month in the Bonaventure Briefing Room at the Shearwater Aviation Museum, with a different guest speaker and military history topic of the month. In-person or online attendance is possible using the Zoom online meeting platform. Interested? Please email Christine Hines, General Manager for SAM, at hines.christine@cfmws.com to be added to the distribution list to get involved. Everyone is welcome!
