Programs
The Shearwater Aviation Museum offers a mix of programs to suit your class needs. While we specialize in delivery of Theory of Flight programs (grade six), we can also provide meaningful programs for older grades.
Grab & Go
Grab & Go programs are available for select grade levels for the Nova Scotia curricula. Grades included in our programming offerings so far include:
Grade 12
Grade 11
Grade 9
Grade 7
Grade 6
These programs are self-directed and can be used in concert with a visit to SAM (ideal) or on their own in your classroom.
Theory of Flight
The Theory of Flight program is geared to Grade Six classes. You can make a booking by emailing curator@shearwateraviationmuseum.ca. Bookings for Theory of Flight programs can be made for English or French classes, in-person at the museum or off-site, in your classroom. Recommended cost is $2.00/student.
Tours
Booked tours for your class can be arranged by special appointment. Usually one guide is assigned per 20-25 students. For larger groups or multiple classes, extra guides will be assigned and the group will be split in two sections for ease of traverse throughout the museum. Maximum of two classes per booking is recommended.
